PERRY, IA : 1 dead, 2 injured in Dallas County head-on crash on Tuesday, 2nd February 2021

The Dallas County Sheriff’s Office says one person is dead and two others were injured in a head-on crash Tuesday night.

Deputies said the crash happened at approximately 9:39 p.m. in the 15000 block of J Avenue, south of Perry.

The Iowa State Patrol reports 53-year-old Stephen Joseph Wink, of Council Bluffs, was driving a 2009 Volkswagen Jetta south along J Avenue when he crossed over the center line and struck a northbound 2001 Toyota Echo driven by 39-year-old Danyel Denise Hardisty, of rural Minburn.

When rescue crews arrived, they found Hardisty dead at the scene. A 7-year-old child inside Hardisty’s vehicle was transported to Blank Children’s Hospital for serious injuries. Deputies said the child’s condition is not known at this time.
