Lorain, OH : One person was slightly injured in a rollover crash on Saturday, June 10, 2017

One person was slightly injured in a rollover crash June 10 in Avon Lake, according to police.

The crash happened around 6:49 p.m. at the intersection of state Route 83 and Electric Boulevard when a maroon Lincoln with one occupant that was traveling southbound on 83 turned at the red light and struck a Jeep that was traveling west on Electric, officers said.

The collision caused the Jeep to roll onto its hood and come to rest in a nearby tree lawn. The driver of the Jeep was transported to the hospital due to a minor head wound. The two children who were riding in the Jeep were not injured because they were strapped into child safety seats, police said.

The driver of the Lincoln, who was not injured, will be cited for a failure to yield to a traffic control device.
