BOWDOINHAM, ME : 3 hurt in car-bus collision on I-295 on Monday, 1st July 2019

Three people were hurt when a sedan and an old school bus that had been converted into an ice cream truck collided on Interstate 295 in Bowdoinham Monday evening, according to witnesses who saw the crash and helped the occupants.

Several witnesses on scene said the car, a Nissan, was being driven erratically just before the crash, which happened near mile marker 39 in the northbound lanes of I-295. The crash was reported around 6:15 p.m. The vehicles came to a rest off the side of the interstate. The bus rolled over onto its side.

Sgt. Jason Madore said State Police were initially told a bus had overturned, that a car was involved and that there were several injuries. There were only three people involved, however.

Troopers arrived and located two people on the bus with injuries.
