Greensburg, PA : Millvale construction worker breaks hip in accident on Friday, 12th August, 2016
A construction worker run over by a fellow employee driving a dump truck was taken to a hospital with a broken hip, Allegheny County spokeswoman Amie Downs said Saturday.
The driver did not see the victim, who was working on a manhole cover Friday night in the 500 block of Evergreen Road, Downs said. Police do not anticipate filing any charges, she said.
The victim, whose name has not been released, is an employee of Gulisek Construction in Mt. Pleasant. Millvale police told WPXI-TV, the Tribune-Review's news partner, that he was in critical but stable condition with injuries that were not life-threatening.
No one at Gulisek Construction could be reached. The accident happened at 8:41 p.m. Friday.
A man operating a hydraulic lift for Gulisek Construction was killed in May 2015. He was repairing an East Busway overpass in Wilkinsburg when the lift pinned him against the structure he was patching.
The county Medical Examiner's Office ruled the man's death an accident.
