Sedgwick, ME : Two men seriously injured in Sedgwick crash on Sunday, March 13, 2016
Two passengers were ejected after a Jeep Wrangler crashed near routes 15 and 176 in Sedgwick at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, Maine State Police Sgt. Jeff Ingemi said.
Torey Slaven, 22, of Surry and Philip Graceffa, 30, of Brooksville were taken by LifeFlight to Eastern Maine Medical Center, Ingemi reported.
A hospital spokesman on Monday said Slaven was listed in fair condition. The hospital had no information on Graceffa.
The motorist, Olivia Perkins, 21, of Penobscot, was trapped in the driver’s seat and had to be extricated from the vehicle, the sergeant said. She was treated at Blue Hill Memorial Hospital.
Perkins lost control of her 1998 Jeep Wrangler, which went off the road and struck a parked flatbed trailer before the Jeep “vaulted into a tree,” the sergeant said.
Ingemi said alcohol is thought to be a factor in the crash.
Cpl. Dan Ryan is the investigating officer. Sgt. Tim Varney assisted, as did Hancock County Chief Deputy Pat Kane and Deputy Jeff McFarland.
The Sedgwick Fire Department responded to the scene to extricate Perkins and to provide traffic control.
Sedgwick Fire Chief David Carter said the Blue Hill Fire Department provided mutual aid by setting up a landing zone for LifeFlight at Penobscot River Greens.
Peninsula Ambulance, Memorial Ambulance and County Ambulance assisted as well.
