Gadsden, AL : Marshall County teen dies from crash injuries on Thursday, December 1st, 2016

A 15-year-old Marshall County boy died Thursday after he was injured Wednesday night in a single-vehicle crash, according to Alabama State Troopers.The teen was injured when the 2005 Nissan in which he was a passenger left the roadway and struck a tree at 8:45 p.m. on Whitesville Drive, four miles west of Boaz. The teen, who was not using a seat belt, was transported to Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, where he died. The 16-year-old driver of the vehicle — who also wasn’t using a seat belt — was transported to an area hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Although the circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation by troopers, there’s a preliminary indication that speed was a factor.
