Reno, NV : Five people critically injured in head-on crash near Fallon on Thursday morning, July 7, 2016

Nevada Highway Patrol responded to a head on collision Thursday morning. Five people were transported to area hospitals with critical injuries.

The incident happened on U.S. Highway 95, 20 miles south of Fallon at about 11 a.m., according to NHP.

The roadway was fully shut down for a period of time. One-way traffic was allowed in the early afternoon.

Officials have not released a cause for the incident, which is still being investigated.
