Memphis, TN : Suspect on run after woman stabbed, killed Friday night, November 18, 2016
A woman was stabbed and killed Friday night.
Police were called to North Evergreen Street just after 8 p.m. and found the 33-year-old woman, identified as Yvette Joiner, dead on the scene.
A medical examiner determined the woman was stabbed and police are investigating the case as a homicide.
Neighbor Vivian Richmond knew Joiner as a quiet, but always kind, neighbor.
"She was cool, she was cool with the whole neighborhood, very cool,” Richmond said.
As of Sunday, Joiner’s apartment was still littered with broken glass and trash all across the porch. The front window was broken in several places.
"When I seen them, I was thinking 'oh my God, I hope it ain't her,'” Richmond said. “But, unfortunately, it was her and I hate that."
No arrests have been made, and police have not released any information on a possible suspect.
Richmond has one message for the killer:
"You know who you are. You need to turn yourself in and let justice be served. You know that ain't right what you did."
