MINDEN, LA : Hit and run incident results in Minden mans death on Saturday, 4th May 2024
A Minden man is dead following a hit and run and the suspected driver of the vehicle that struck him has been charged with several infractions, including vehicular homicide, Minden Police Chief Jared McIver has confirmed.
The chief said Glennis Oliver, 88, was pronounced dead shortly after the police department received a call of a person standing in the parking lot of Abraham Food Mart, located in the 1700 Block of South Talton Street, being struck by a vehicle Friday around 8:45 p.m.
“Mr. Glennis Oliver was in the parking lot of the store, standing outside of his vehicle, when another vehicle on the roadway lost control, left the roadway and came into the parking lot and struck him, pinning him in between the vehicles,” McIver said.
