CLEAR LAKE, IA : No one hurt in two-vehicle crash on U.S. Highway 18 on Thursday, October 6th, 2016

Two people escaped injury Thursday in a crash on U.S. Highway 18 near Clear Lake.

The crash was reported about 10 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near the Jonquil Avenue overpass.

A tow truck hit the back of an SUV that had slowed for a lane closure, said Iowa State Patrolman Tyrel Williamson.

Iowa Department of Transportation had one of the eastbound lanes close for maintenance.

No one was hurt in the crash.

Williamson said the tow truck driver was cited with a traffic offense.

He would not release the man’s name.
