Dallas, TX : Three people hospitalized after 7-vehicle crash on Dallas North Tollway on Thursday evening, December 25, 2014

Authorities say a chain-reaction collision involving seven vehicles on the Dallas North Tollway has sent three people to hospitals.

The Dallas Morning News reports that the accident occurred Thursday evening when the driver of a speeding BMW crashed into another vehicle. Lonny Haschel of the Texas Department of Public Safety said the impact set off a "pingpong" effect of vehicles.

The three people taken to hospitals were the driver of the BMW and a couple in another vehicle. Their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Officials were working to clear the wreckage from the tollway.
