Pine Bluff, AR : One killed in Monday night accident on Monday, December 26th 2016
A Pine Bluff man was killed and at least one other was injured Monday night in a one-vehicle accident on Sheridan Road.
Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley identified the victim as Steve David Biggs Jr., 16, who was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:06 p.m. by Deputy Coroner Kim Phillips. The cause of death was listed as multiple blunt force trauma.
According to a press release from the Pine Bluff Police Department, a small red pickup was westbound in the 6300 block of Sheridan Road at about 7 p.m. when the vehicle left the roadway and flipped on its side.
Three people were in the truck and Biggs was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.
A second passenger, who was not identified, was taken to Jefferson Regional Medical Center for treatment, while the third was taken to the Pine Bluff Police Department's detective office for questioning.
Pine Bluff Police Department Officer Roy Gober said in the press release that alcohol was believed to have been involved but the incident is still under investigation.
No further information was available Tuesday afternoon.
