Kansas City,KS : Driver dies in high-speed crash after allegedly refusing to stop for police on May,Wednesday 23rd 2018

A driver who police tried to stop for speeding died early Wednesday in a high-speed crash minutes later that critically injured another driver.

The collision occurred about 3 a.m. at 31st Street and Jackson Avenue, according to media reports.

Police had tried to stop a Dodge Charger that was speeding south along Jackson near Truman Road. The driver, however, did not stop and officers gave up the pursuit about 23rd Street.

A few minutes later, police received reports of a crash involving the Charger at 31st and Jackson. The Charger collided with a Nissan Xterra that was headed west on 31st. It was unclear which vehicle ran a red light, police said.
