Canarsie, NY : A 9-year-old girl died in a traffic accident in Brooklyn early Sunday evening on May 4th 2014
The impact of the crash was so thunderous, it rocked residents of a Canarsie neighborhood. Police say the driver of a 2002 Honda Minivan was traveling southbound when he slammed into a Hyundai and a Toyota near the intersection of Remsen Avenue and Avenue N around 5 p.m. Sunday.
The victims were trapped in the Hyundai and witnesses say the 9-year-old was lifeless.
Residents rushed out of their door just after hearing the collision. They say a woman and another child were pulled out of the Hyundai, but appeared to be in shock.
A lengthy trail of glass and debris suggest the cars may have spun after the initial impact. Police took the driver of the minivan into custody. The three passengers in the Toyota were rushed to the hospital.
All of the survivors are listed in stable condition, but hearts are heavy after seeing the remaining rubble of an accident that claimed the life of a 9-year-old.
