Memphis, TN : 67-year-old Florence Calaway killed and Three others injured in Crash afterhitting the Elantra and both vehicles entered the median on Saturday ,March 28th 2015

Memphis Police Department confirms that one person was killed in an accident that happened near Sam Cooper Boulevard and Graham Avenue.

According to police, a 2004 Saturn Vue was traveling west on Sam Cooper when it hit the left, rear side of a 2013 Hyundai Elantra, also traveling west. After hitting the Elantra, both vehicles entered the median.

While the Vue was able to slow down, the Elantra entered eastbound Sam Cooper traffic, striking a 2014 Nissan Rogue head-on. The Rogue was then hit by a 2003 GMC. The GMC overturned and traveled off the roadway, striking a highway sign, and crossing all three eastbound lanes.

The driver of the Vue, 67-year-old Florence Calaway, was pronounced dead on the scene. Three female victims, ages 25, 27, 30 were transported to the hospital in non-critical condition.
