WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL : 1 juvenile killed, 3 injured in crash involving stolen vehicle on Monday, 29th April 2024

A 16-year-old died and three other teens were seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Williamson County on Monday morning, April 29.

Williamson County Sheriff Jeff Diederich said the 16-year-old driver died at the scene.

According to the Johnston City School District Office, the teen was a student at Johnston City High School. They said the superintendent and grief counselors are available at the high school.

Three other teens are in critical condition. The sheriff said they include a 13-year-old from Marion and a 16-year-old and a 17-year-old from Jefferson County.
