Officials have identified the woman who died after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday morning as 75-year-old Naomi McManus of Acton
The news came in a press release from the Middlesex District Attorney's Office on Wednesday night that also revealed that an investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
Chief of Police Richard Burrows said on Tuesday that emergency crews responded to the area of 24 Revolutionary Road at 8:07 a.m. following a 911 call reporting that a woman was found unconscious in the street.
The woman was still breathing but was suffering from serious injuries. She was flown to Massachusetts General Hospital by a medical helicopter, according to Burrows. She was pronounced dead at the hospital at 10:36 p.m.
Burrows also said Tuesday that an initial investigation indicated that the driver of the vehicle that struck McManus fled the scene but then returned.
According to Wednesday's release from the District Attorney's Office, the driver is cooperating with authorities and no charges have been filed to date.
The cause and manner of McManus' death will be determined by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the release stated.
The investigation is being conducted by the District Attorney's Office, the Acton Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
