Man dies when motorcycle hits deer, pickup truck

A Newark man was killed when his motorcycle struck a deer and then collided with a pickup truck in Muskingum County last night.
Ryan P. Longstreth, 38, was riding west on Rt. 40 west of Zanesville when he struck a deer. Longstreth, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle and into the road.The motorcycle crossed to the eastbound side of Rt. 40, where it collided with a pickup truck driven by Seth E. Hildebrand, 26, of Zanesville. Longstreth was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the State Highway Patrol. Hildebrand was treated and released at the scene.The Zanesville post of the patrol is investigating the crash. Alcohol apparently was not a factor in the crash.
