A Wilmington man was sent to the hospital after causing a crash involving a tractor-trailer on I-95 north near Newark Friday morning, police said.
The crash happened on I-95 north in the area of Churchmans Marsh near Route 7 around 4:45 a.m., Delaware State Police said.
A Freightliner tractor-trailer, driven by a 34-year-old Port Republic, New Jersey, man, was slowing down due to stopped traffic, police said, when a Mazda 3, driven by a 20-year-old Wilmington man, rear-ended the tractor-trailer. Police said the driver of the tractor-trailer, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.
The driver of the Mazda, who was also wearing a seat belt, was taken to Christiana Hospital with serious injuries. He was also cited for failure to remain in a single lane and having expired registration, police said.
