Palm Bay, FL : One person was killed and another was injured in a two tractor-trailers accident at Interstate 95 On Thursday, June 30th, 2016

One person was killed and another was hurt in a crash involving two tractor-trailers on Interstate 95 on Thursday morning.
It happened in the northbound lanes of I-95 near the Palm Bay Road exit.

The FHP said the crash happened when a semi-truck hauling an excavator had a tire tread separation while traveling northbound. The excavator came off the trailer and struck another semi-truck as it was traveling northbound.

One of the truck drivers was pronounced dead on the scene, the other was taken to a hospital for treatment.

As off 11: 45 a.m., traffic was moving slowly in the southbound lanes, but the northbound lanes remained shutdown and may not reopen until Thursday evening, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
