FLINT, MI : State police investigate deadly crash involving MTA bus on Tuesday, 16th January 2024
Michigan State Police are investigating a deadly crash that happened in Flint on Tuesday, Jan. 16.
At around 5:30 p.m., troopers at the Flint Post located a suspect vehicle that was wanted for a Shiawassee County carjacking and assault that happened on eastbound I-69 near Moorish Road.
Police tried to stop a 2009 Pontiac G8, but the car and suspects took off, MSP said, adding officers followed for about three minutes when the chase was stopped near Hammerberg Road for safety reasons.
Police said the suspect exited I-69 at Saginaw Street while troopers continued on eastbound I-69.
Two minutes later, a traffic crash was reported at the intersection of Saginaw Street and 9th Street. The suspect car crashed with an MTA bus as it crossed the intersection, police said.
