BATH Twp, OH : Two Greenon High School students died after a two-vehicle crash on Saturday, August 19, 2017

Two Greenon High School students died after a two-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Bath Township near Fairborn.

The district has identified the students as David Waag and Connor Williams. According to a social media post by the district a third student and recent graduate was also involved in the crash. That person’s identity and condition has not been released.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. on Wilkerson Rd. near Mud Run Rd.Troopers say there were four males in the car and none of them were wearing their seat-belts.

The district announced it will cancel school for Monday the 21st on Facebook saying in part:

“After careful consideration of our need to support our students during this difficult time and protect all students during tomorrow’s solar eclipse, we are cancelling school so that we can ensure the safety and emotional well-being of all students and staff.”

Although school is canceled Monday the district plans to have counselors on hand for students at Greenon High School from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The district says students can also call the school at 937-340-6372 ext. 5000 if they would like a counselor to call them.

The district plans to hold a vigil Sunday evening at the high school’s football stadium in honor of the victims.

The cause of the crash has not been released.
