GRAHAM, WA : Meridian East near Graham reopen after crash involving 2 semis on Wednesday, August 9, 2017
Meridian East near Graham is now reopened after a semi truck rear ended another semi about 9 a.m. Wednesday morning on 308th Street near the Graham landfill, according to authorities.
One of the drivers had to be extricated from his truck and was transferred to Tacoma General Hospital with serious injuries, Graham Fire Chief Steve Richards said.
The other driver suffered minor injuries.
The crash reportedly happened when one of the semis stopped to turn into the landfill and was rear ended by the other truck, according to Washington State Patrol.
Richards said authorities are working to reopen one lane to allow for traffic and to expect delays.
The investigation into the collision is ongoing.
