Brentwood ,CA :Car crash sparks 15-acre fire on Wednesday ,June 30th 2015

A car crash sparked a 15-acre fire on state park property Wednesday night, said a Cal Fire official.

A truck was traveling northbound on Deer Valley Road when the driver lost control while passing another vehicle near Briones Road, said Cal Fire Battalion Chief Mike Jarske. The truck went off the road, through a fence and into a ditch, where it caught fire around 6:37 p.m.

No one was injured, Jarske said.

The fire was extinguished by 8:44 p.m., he said. No homes were threatened.
