Iota , LA : 20- Years old women was killed after her car ran off the road and struck a tree on Tuesay , December 9th 2014

State police say a single vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 91 north of Iota (EYE'-oh-tuh) in Acadia Parish has that claimed the life of a 20-year-old woman.

Master Trooper Brooks David (DAH'-veed) says Claire Lejeune (luh-ZHERN') of Iota was traveling north on Highway 91 Tuesday when her car ran off the road and struck a tree.

David says Lejeune was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle.

He says Lejeune was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died.

The crash remains under investigation.
