Nampa, ID : Detour in place for westbound I-84 in Nampa after multiple-vehicle crash, tanker spill on Thursday, 13th December 2018
The driver of a tractor pulling double tanker trailers was hospitalized Thursday following a three-vehicle accident that resulted in a five-hour lane closure on Interstate 84 in Nampa.
According to a news release from the Idaho State Police, Kenneth Brooks, 56, of Star, was driving a Peterbilt tractor in the middle lane of the interstate near the Garrity Boulevard. Ricky Hickstein, 59, of Washington, was driving in the left-hand lane and attempted to merge into the middle lane, hitting the front of Brooks’ vehicle. Hickstein’s vehicle then collided with 29-year-old Alysson Lindquist’s vehicle in the right lane; both then hit a barrier. Hickstein’s car then came back into the lanes of travel and hit the tractor, which then overturned.
Brooks was taken to Saint Alphonsus Medical Center. The tractor spilled liquid sugar beet extract onto the road.
