Hagerstown, MD : Yorker one of two killed in Md. crash on Friday morning, August 12, 2016
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says a York man and a Harrisburg woman were killed and a third person was hurt when their car hit a median and fell on its side in Hagerstown.
The department said in a news release that the crash occurred Friday morning on Maugans Avenue just off Interstate 81. Deputies say the car, driven by 74-year-old Doris Neely of Harrisburg, hit the median, flipped onto the passenger side, and stopped in a grassy area.
Police say Neely, who might have suffered a medical emergency, died at a local hospital. Authorities say the front-seat passenger in Neely’s car, 82-year-old James Ransome of York, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Deputies say a back-seat passenger was taken to a hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life-threatening.
