One person died in a crash in west Charlotte Saturday evening.
The fatal wreck happened just before 7 p.m. at the intersection Wilkinson Boulevard and Remount Road.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said Gaberial Morgan, 35, was speeding when he hit a pedestrian, identified as 51-year-old Beaver Jett.
Jett was pronounced dead on scene. Morgan was arrested and charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle.
This crash was under investigation by the CMPD Major Crash Investigation Unit.
