Portland, OR : One person dead after a single vehicle crash near Northeast 148th and Northeast Airport Way on Wednesday, April 15, 2015

Police are investigating a crash that killed one person on Airport Way Wednesday morning.

Portland police said the crash happened just before 5 a.m. in the 14900 block of Northeast Airport Way.

One person was in the car when it left the road and hit a tree in front of the Portland Police Bureau's training complex, officers said.

The driver. who police have not identified, was dead when officers got there.

The eastbound lanes of Airport Way are closed near Northeast 148th Avenue. Officers said they expected the road to remain closed for several hours. Drivers can take Marine Drive or Sandy Boulevard eastbound.
