Lincoln,NE : Warrant issued in Lincoln road rage crash that severed leg on September, Wednesday 6th 2017
An arrest warrant has been issued for a 28-year-old Lincoln man accused of intentionally crashing into another man in a road rage incident, severing the victim’s leg.
Police say the warrant charges Deaubre Gardner, of Lincoln, with first-degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
Investigators say the incident happened Aug. 31, when Gardner’s car and another vehicle crashed into each other in a road rage dispute.
Police say both men got out of their vehicles, then Gardner got back into his Dodge Charger and intentionally hit the other driver, 39-year-old Steven Collins, severing Collins’ leg. Gardner’s car was found abandoned blocks away, and he’s still being sought.
Officials credit a witness with saving Collins’ life by fashioning a tourniquet out of bungee cords.
