Wahpeton, N.D : 21-year-old man dies in Wahpeton car crash on Sunday night, February 19, 2017

A 21-year-old man is dead after his car hit a tree in Wahpeton.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol said it happened late Sunday night around 11:50 p.m..

The man was driving in Wahpeton when he veered left, went off the road and hit a tree head-on.

He wasn't wearing a seatbelt.

It's unknown how fast he was going or what led up to the crash.

Authorities are expected to release his name Tuesday evening.
