Titusville, FL : Viera woman struck and killed by a car in Brevard County on Wednesday evening, December 2, 2015

A Viera woman was killed after getting off a bus and being hit by a vehicle in Brevard County Wednesday evening.

Amy Lawson, 48, got off a bus near the intersection of Judge Fran Jamieson Way and Stadium Parkway just after 6 p.m., said Sgt. Kim Montes, a Florida Highway Patrol spokeswoman.

Lawson crossed the northbound lanes of Stadium Parkway and started crossing the southbound lanes when a Melbourne man in a 2014 Honda struck her, Montes said.

She was taken to Holmes Regional Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead.

The Honda driver was not injured.

Troopers are investigating the crash, Montes said.
