Crystal Lake, IL : Hit-and-run crash killed Oswego softball coach on Sunday, 24th June 2018

The Lockport woman found dead on Plainfield Road Sunday afternoon in Oswego Township was the head softball coach for Oswego High School, School District 308 officials have confirmed.

The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday, June 24, that deputies responded to the area of Plainfield Road and Plainsman Court in Oswego Township at around 2:26 p.m. to investigate a report of an unresponsive person. A preliminary investigation shows she may have been killed in a hit and run accident, police said.

Police located Amanda Stanton, 26, of the 100 block of East 11th Street, Lockport, and the Sheriff’s Office said Stanton was determined to be deceased. She was a former softball standout at Lockport, played softball at Eastern Michigan University and was the current Oswego head softball coach.
