CLARKSFIELD TOWNSHIP, OH : Two sustain serious injuries in accident on Monday, 14th May 2018
The Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Norwalk Post is investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash that occurred Tuesday on Ohio 18 just north of Ohio 60.
A 2017 Mitsubishi driven by John Lee Brake, 53, of Sandusky, sustained severe damage in the early-afternoon crash. Brake sustained non-incapacitating injuries in the crash and was taken by EMS to Fisher-Titus Medical Center.
There were three passengers in the car: Heather M. Brake, 40, of Sandusky, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland; Kimberly Jagusch, 11, of Sandusky, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was flown to MetroHealth Medical Center; John Jagusch, 20, of Sandusky, sustained non-incapacitating injuries in the crash and was transported by EMS to Fisher-Titus Regional Medical Center.
Also involved was a 2005 Sterling Commercial dump truck and was driven by Dean T. Mesenburg, 62, of Collins. Mesenburg was not injured in the crash.
Brake’s car turned left from Ohio 60 northbound to go west on Ohio 18. The dump truck was eastbound on Ohio 18 and struck the car 1 head-on. Both vehicles came to rest in the roadway. Seat belt usage and impairment are still under investigation.
