Four Andhra People killed in Detroit Road Accident

Four Indians hailing from Andhra Pradesh met with a road accident early morning on Sunday October 23 in Southfield City (near Detroit area) and all of them died in the crash. The victims were Satyendra Akula, 30, of Bhimavaram, Sumant Rajan, 32, of Visakhapatnam, Venkatachalam Pasala, 28, of Tadepalli Gudem and his father-in-law Rajendra Prasad Jonnala, 50.
While these four people, returning from Detroit downtown were traveling on M-10 near I-696, a person who was driving on the wrong way came and hit their SUV causing both cars to burst into flames. Southfield police are investigating the case to get more details and if alcohol was the possible cause of the accident.
Satyendra, Sumant and Venkatachalam were IT Consultants and worked for the same company in Detroit. The bodies have been taken to County Medical Examiner’s Office in Pontiac, MI, for autopsy.
According to information available, Venkatachalam Pasala 30, is married with a 2 month old baby girl. Rajendra Prasad Jonnals 50, is Pasala’s father-in-law visiting with his wife. Satyendranath Akula 35, his wife and 2 year old baby recently arrived from India. While Sumanth Rajana 32, married 6 months ago and his wife is in India.
Miracle Software Services, where the fatal car accident victims worked, is making arrangements to send the bodies to their families in Andhra Pradesh, India.
Detroit Telugu Association has been active addressing the grim situation. It has been receiving many calls from community members conveying condolences to the family members besides expressing desire to extend their help.
