Wayland, MA : Framingham man died in a motorcycle crash on West Plain Street in Wayland early Sunday morning, May 15, 2016
A Framingham man was killed in a motorcycle crash early Sunday morning when his bike hit a utility pole on West Plain Street, police said.
Edward Mcisaac, 29, of 15 Copeland St., apparently lost control of his cycle at 2:30 a.m., hitting a pole in the area of 202 West Plain St. According to Wayland Police, Mcisaac was taken to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
West Plain Street is a main road with a 35 mile-per-hour speed limit. Many of the nearby houses include families with young children. The crash woke several neighbors.
Nghiep Nguyen, who lives across the street from the scene of the crash, said he was sleeping when he heard loud noises.
"I heard a 'pow' and I went and saw the guy lying over by the electric pole," Nguyen said. "My son is a little kid, so when I hear a noise in the middle of the night, I worry about him."
Christiane Carducci, of 206 West Plain St., said her baby woke her up, which is when she saw flashing blue police lights.
"I thought they were just passing by, but then they kept flashing and I realized something happened," she said.
The street was closed for several hours while the accident was investigated by Wayland Police and the Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team, police said. According to Carducci, police were just leaving the neighborhood when she went to leave her house for the day around 8 a.m. Sunday.
Flowers and a small blue teddy bear were placed on a utility pole Sunday.
The crash is still under investigation, police said.
