Charleston, SC : Princeton man dies in pedestrian accident in Charleston on October 21 2016

Police are currently investigating a pedestrian accident which claimed the life of a Mercer County man while he was visiting the city of Charleston.
The Charleston Police Department and Charleston Fire Department responded10:30 p.m., Oct. 21 to a report of a pedestrian struck at the intersection of Lee Street East and Clendenin Street in Charleston, according to a press release issued by Sgt. Mark Kinder of the Charleston Police Department. First responders arrived on the scene and found Robert Earl "Bob" Winfrey, 70, of Princeton lying on Lee Street East and immediately began to treat him
Winfrey was transported to the Charleston Area Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the vehicle remained on scene and provided a statement to Charleston Police Department. At this time no charges have been filed but the investigation is ongoing, Kinder said.
Funeral arrangements for Winfrey were incomplete Monday at the Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton.
