Agoura Hills, CA : Two Woodland Hills men killed in crash with big rig on the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills early Tuesday, June 28, 2016

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the circumstances surrounding a fiery crash on the 101 Freeway in Agoura Hills that left two Woodland Hills men dead early Tuesday.

The incident, which was reported about 12:16 a.m. at Chesebro Road, took place when a BMW traveling south on the freeway collided with a big rig traveling in the same direction, according to a California Highway Patrol statement.

The men’s BMW became “fully engulfed in flames” with the vehicle trapped under the rear of the truck’s trailer, officials said.

Los Angeles County Fire personnel found the two men, ages 21 and 24, dead in the BMW.

The men had yet to be identified as of 5:10 p.m. Tuesday, according to an official with the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner-Coroner.

The 38-year-old driver of the big rig, a Ventura resident who was not identified, was not injured, according to the CHP.

A SigAlert was issued with the freeway temporarily reduced to one lane, officials said.
