New Haven, CT : Two seriously injured after head-on crash in Ansonia Thursday night, August 4, 2016

Two people were taken to area hospitals with serious injuries late Thursday night after a head-on crash in Ansonia.

The crash happened at about 10:30 p.m. in the 500 block of Wakelee Avenue near Molto Bene Italian American Kitchen, police spokesman Lt. Andrew Cota confirmed Friday morning.

The two victims were both female but their identities were not immediately available Friday morning. One was taken to Bridgeport Hospital and the other was taken to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Bridgeport. Both were listed in serious condition, Cota said.

Cota said the accident remains under investigation and no enforcement action had been taken as of Friday morning.
