Plattsburgh, NY : Car crashes into doctor's office on May 28th 2014

A Plattsburgh doctor heard a loud crash outside his office, and then found a car in his waiting room.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Beach Medical Services on Hammond Lane. The driver told police she swerved to avoid something in the parking lot and accidentally hit the gas instead of the brake. She's not facing any charges.

"One of my regular patients, wife, and grandchild were here. The wife and grandchild traditionally sit in that area. Thankfully she was outside using her cellphone. So there was a very good potential someone could have been seriously hurt and we're very happy and blessed that no one was," said Dr. Jonathan Beach, with Beach Medical Services.

Beach says insurance will cover the damage and he'll be open for business Thursday morning.
