MONTVILLE, ME : A 16-year-old boy from Liberty was killed in a crash on Wednesday, December, 6th 2017
A 16-year-old boy from Liberty was killed in a crash while on his way to school Wednesday morning, according to the Waldo County Sheriff's Office.
The single-car crash was reported at 8 a.m. on Route 220 in Monville.
Deputies said Riley Boulay was the only person in the car and died of his injuries at the scene.
Boulay was a student at Mount View High School in Thorndike.
Deputies said Boulay lost control of his car, went off the road and hit several trees.
Speed appears to be the primary factor in the crash, deputies said.
Counselors have been made available to help students, families and community members cope with the teen's death.
All after-school activities have been canceled for Wednesday.
