Fort Dodge, IA : One injured after 3-vehicle crash Saturday on Saturday, March 11th 2017
One woman suffered a head injury after a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Fifth Avenue South and South 15th Street Saturday afternoon, according to Fort Dodge police reports.
Shelly Harrison, 49, of Fort Dodge, was transported by ambulance to UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center, after she reportedly struck her head on the windshield of the vehicle she was riding in, according to police.
Her injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.
Harrison was traveling with Jerry Gries, 42, of Sioux City, in a red Dodge pickup truck.
Gries, traveling southbound, reportedly hit an SUV driven by Anthony Underwood, 35, of Fort Dodge.
Both vehicles sustained damage to the front end.
Underwood was traveling westbound.
The impact of the collision caused Underwood’s vehicle to slide into a traffic pole located on the southwest corner of the intersection, police reported.
Gries continued southbound and struck a Ford pickup truck.
That truck was driven by James Ellis, 59, of Fort Dodge.
No other injuries were reported.
Gries was cited for driving with a license under suspension, failure to provide proof of financial liability, violation of restricted license, and failure to obey a traffic control device.
