Costa Mesa,CA : 2 killed in 405 Freeway crash in Costa Mesa are identified on January, Thursday 11th 2018
range County coroner’s officials Thursday released the names of a man and a woman killed last week in a crash on the northbound 405 Freeway in Costa Mesa.
Authorities said the crash occurred shortly after 8:30 p.m. Jan. 5 when the driver of an Audi A4 abruptly changed lanes and lost control of the vehicle. The Audi’s driver, Uyu Suo, 38, and passenger, Ping Yang, 46, were killed, according to the coroner’s office. Their cities of residence were not available.
The Audi collided with a Dodge Challenger before crashing into the concrete center divider north of Harbor Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol. The Audi came to a stop in the carpool lane.
A Mercury sedan then struck the side of the Audi, and the impact ejected Suo from the car, authorities said.
Another vehicle — identified only as a white sedan — struck Suo, according to the CHP. The white sedan then fled the scene, authorities said.
The driver of the Mercury, Bingying Ma, 23, and a passenger, Shihao Wang, 24, were taken to Orange County Global Medical Center in Santa Ana with injuries described as minor and moderate, according to the CHP.
Anyone with information about the crash or the white sedan or its driver is asked to contact CHP Officer D. Beckton at (714) 567-6000. Authorities said the front of the car might be damaged.
