Knox County, TN : Hit-and-run suspect from Oak Ridge is in the hospital after crashing his motorcycle on Friday morning August 15th 2014
Crews took a hit-and-run suspect to the hospital after he crashed his motorcycle during a police pursuit in west Knox County Friday morning.
Oak Ridge police told Knox County deputies to be on the lookout for James F. Mitchell, 43, of Oak Ridge. A deputy saw Mitchell traveling on West Emory Road shortly after 7:40 a.m. When the officer got behind the suspect's motorcycle and activated his lights, Mitchell took a curve too quickly, ran off the side of the road into a ditch. He was thrown from his motorcycle.
Crews took Mitchell to the University of Tennessee Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Multiple charges against Mitchell are pending.
Knox County deputies are responding to a serious crash on W. Emory Road at Oak Ridge Highway Friday morning.
The accident happened shortly before 7:45 a.m. at 9638 W. Emory Road in west Knox County.
No word if there were any injuries.
