GREENUP, KY : Greenup woman killed in vehicle accident on Friday, September 22nd 2017

The name of a Greenup County woman killed in a vehicle accident Thursday evening has been released.

According to the Greenup County Sherriff’s Department, Mary L. Hill, 61, ran a stop sign at the intersection of Ohio River Road and the Kentucky State Route 10 (Jesse Stuart Memorial Bridge). Her vehicle was struck on the driver side by another vehicle traveling northbound on Kentucky State Route 10.

Hill was killed instantly as a result of the collision. The driver of the other vehicle was not injured. The GCSD responded to the scene at approximately 4:45 p.m. and was assisted by the Lloyd Volunteer Fire Department, Portsmouth Ambulance Service and the Greenup Coroner’s Office.

The accident remains under investigation.
