Durham, NC : 2 fatalities confirmed in multi-vehicle accident on 99 on Friday, 21st June 2019

A four-vehicle, double fatality crash, involving a semi-truck, a debris truck, a white minivan, and another unknown vehicle, was confirmed on Highway 99 northbound at Neal Road in Durham at around 6:12 p.m. Friday, according to KRCR News and the California Highway Patrol.

The crash also caused major injuries to five other people.According to California Highway Patrol Chico’s Facebook post, “The alternate route around this collision is to exit northbound 99 at Durham Pentz Road, head west on Durham Pentz Road and then north on Midway if you need to get to Chico.”

In an update on the CHP Facebook page, the fatality count went down to two instead of three as mentioned in their previous post.

Officials on scene say there is no estimated time for the road to be reopened at this time, as of 7:30 p.m. Friday.

CHP officers are investigating the collision.
