Milwaukee, WI : 35- Years old Eli Rogelio killed after car and motorcycle collide at 35th, National on Wednesday night ,June 3rd 2015
There was a large turnout at a vigil for a father of three who was killed in a motorcycle crash Wednesday night.
Officers said the accident happened around 11:30 p.m. near 35th Street and National Avenue.
Investigators said Eli Rogelio, 35, was driving a Suzuki motorcycle. He attempted a left turn from 35th Street onto National Avenue when he turned in front of a northbound vehicle.
"He was a wonderful father to his children. He was amazing. He would do anything for the kids. He was an amazing husband,” Eli Rogelio’s wife, Betty Rogelio, said.
She said he just bought his bike Wednesday.
Eli's Rogelio's mother, father and younger brother all died recently.
"It's just sad. This is how we see each other all the time, but we'll get through it,” Eli Rogelio’s cousin, Maria, said.
Eli Rogelio was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. Police said he died at a hospital.
The driver of the car, 21, was not hurt and stayed at the scene.
It's been a deadly season for motorcycles. There have been nine fatal motorcycle accidents in Milwaukee County since April
