A deadly car crash killed a 47-year-old Conway man and shut down S.C. 90 Thursday morning.
Jesse Clifton Doyle, 47, of Conway, was killed in the crash, according to Horry County Deputy Coroner Michelle McSpadden.
The wreck happened on southbound S.C. 90 about 2 miles from S.C. 22 around 10 a.m. when Doyle's vehicle ran into the back of a large truck.
According to Cpl. Sonny Collins, with the S.C. Highway Patrol, there was road work on S.C. 90 and a 2011 International Truck was stopped in a flagged work zone.
Doyle, who was driving a 1996 Ford truck, ran into the back of the International Truck while it was stopped in the work zone.
Collins said no charges are expected in the case.
Doyle was wearing a seatbelt.
An autopsy is scheduled for late Thursday afternoon, McSpadden said.
A reporter who was at the scene Thursday morning shortly after the crash said the road was closed while law enforcement officials investigated.
