BELVIDERE, IL : 1 dead in motorcycle crash in Belvidere on February, Tuesday 27th 2018

A motorcyclist died Tuesday after colliding with a car, police said.

Justin Williams, 29, of Belvidere was pronounced deat at SwedishAmerican Medical Center in Belvidere, according to a news release from the Boone County Coroner’s Office.

The crash occurred at 5:38 a.m. Tuesday at South Appleton Road and Daimler Drive. Boone County Sheriff’s Deputy Nick Funk said the motorcycle was traveling south on Appleton Road when a northbound Ford began making a left turn onto Daimler.

The motorcycle hit the passenger side of the Ford while it was in the intersection, Funk said, adding he didn’t yet know which driver had the green light.

“The front tire broke off (the motorcycle),” Funk said. “The car did a 180 after being hit by the motorcycle.”
