Mifflin County, PA : Shamokin man injured in motorcycle crash on State Route 103 in Bratton Township on Monday, July 25, 2016

A Shamokin man was injured during a motorcycle crash on Monday, July 25 at 5:22 p.m. in Bratton Township in Mifflin County, according to State Police in Lewistown.

Investigator Christopher Wilson said Daniel A. Peruso, 62, was riding his Harley-Davidson Sportster on State Route 103 when he failed to see a fallen tree in the middle of the road.

When his motorcycle hit the tree, Peruso was thrown off.

Because he wasn't wearing a Department of Transportation approved helmet, Wilson said the motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and was taken via Life Flight to Altoona Hospital.

According to an Altoona Hospital operator, the Hospital currently doesn't any Peruso's listed as a patient.

Wilson said Peruso will be charged with driving with a suspended license.
